Granola is such a fun and versatile recipe to make. Store bought brands often have excessive added sugars and preservatives, so making a homemade version is a great alternative. However, some of my favorite brands of granola to buy are Purely Elizabeth & Four Plus- a local CT brand!
This recipe is great for a pre workout snack, and add-on to breakfast, or even a sweet treat. The add in's of the chia & hemp seeds are great as they are packed with protein, fiber, & healthy fats.
Recipe:
- preheat the oven to 200
- to a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of organic rolled oats, 1/4 hemp seeds, 1/4 chia seeds & a pinch of salt
- once mixed, and 3-4 large spoonfuls of almond butter (or any nut butter you have), 1/4 cup honey (try to go for organic & local if possible!) & 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil
- mix together & spread over a baking sheet & bake for 10-20 mins or until crispy & golden brown... definitely check the oven often as granola can burn quickly.
